Why I Care So Much: The Tails on Trails Difference

For me, pet care means love, trust, and genuine connection, just like this.

If you’re searching for truly reliable pet sitting in North Brisbane, here’s why Tails on Trails is more than just a business, it’s personal.

Why Trust Matters in Pet Care

A few years ago, Glenn and I were off living our best lives in Bali. Cocktails in hand, sun on our faces, thinking everything back home was peachy.

Franklin, our boy, was staying with family friends. The daily updates? “He’s fine!” The photos and videos? All smiles, wagging tail, nothing to see here… or so we thought.

But when we got home, the truth hit hard.

Franklin wasn’t fine. His skin was flaring up, his immune system had gone completely rogue, and his own body was attacking his organs, his poor liver especially.

That moment changed everything for me.

Since then, we haven’t traveled overseas together. Instead, we got a caravan so we can bring the pups along.

What I Want For My Own Pets (And Yours)

Here’s the thing: I know exactly what I want when the day comes that we finally decide to go overseas together.

I want someone who truly gets it. Someone who isn’t just a dog lover, but a dog understander. Someone trained, insured, experienced, and just a little bit obsessed with making sure every pet in their care is safe, happy, and thriving. Because I’ve learned the hard way: loving dogs is wonderful, but truly understanding them is everything.

A well-meaning mate might not spot the tiny red flags, the weird appetite, the “just not himself” vibe, the little things only a total dog nerd (guilty!) would notice. But someone who lives and breathes pet care? That’s next-level. That’s the kind of peace of mind I want for my own pack, and it’s exactly what I bring to every Tails on Trails family.

My Promise To Your Pets

When I’m looking after your pets, they’re not just another booking in my calendar, they’re my pack. For that time, I’m the head of the fur family, and yes, I take that role very seriously.

I’m not just popping in to fill a bowl and snap a cute pic for the ‘gram. I’m on full “mum mode”, scanning for every little sign, checking in, double-checking, and making sure everyone’s happy, healthy, and living their best life.

I don’t leave until I know all tails are wagging and whiskers are twitching just right.

I wait for that “all home safe” message when you’re back, and only then do I finally relax (well, mostly, old habits die hard).

Because for me, Tails on Trails isn’t just a gig.

It’s trust.

It’s family.

And yes, I take that personally, maybe even a little too seriously.

But honestly? If you ask me, that’s exactly how it should be.
